Transient expression of maize ZmGAD1 and ZmGAD2 in tobacco leaves led to increased tolerance to Cd. a Nuclear localization of GFP-tagged ZmGAD1 and ZmGAD2 fusion proteins in N. benthamiana. Epidermal cells of N. benthamiana leaves transiently expressing GFP fusion proteins were observed using confocal microscopy at 4 days post agro-infiltration. RFP-H2A, localized in the nucleus, was used to indicate the nuclei [36].
