Expression patterns of AQP genes in G. raimondii and G. hirsutum. Seven tissues and organs were involved in mature leaf, 0, 3, 10, 20, 30 and 40 DPA ovules in G. raimondii. Sixteen tissues and organs were involved in root, leaf, − 3, − 1, 0, 1, 3, 5, 10, 20, 25 or 35 DPA ovules, 5, 10, 20 and 25 DPA fibers in G. hirsutum acc. TM-1. The color represented AQPs expression levels normalized by Log2 (FPKM+ 1). Colored squares indicated expression levels from 0 (blue) to 11 (red).
