Different cold responses of two Camellia sinensis cultivars. The two tea varieties (a) were exposed to cold acclimation for two weeks followed by freezing stress. The relative electrical conductivity (REC) (b), chlorophyll fluorescence by Fv/Fm image (c), and Fv/Fm value (d) were examined. NA and FA represent no cold acclimation and treatment with freezing acclimation followed by − 5 °C for 12 h. Statistically significant differences between SCZ and YH9 were calculated using one-way ANOVA test using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) 16.0. ** p < 0.01
