Number of BUSCO markers found in de novo assemblies based on different amounts of data. Bars represent the average number of BUSCO markers found in the de novo assemblies, error bars represent standard error. The average number of BUSCO markers found varied between 54 to 75 (out of the 303 proteins in the eukaryota_odb9 dataset). Retrieving around 54 to 75 markers from our single-cell transcriptomes can be compared to the reference transcriptome of G. intestinalis on NCBI, which encodes 146 of the BUSCO markers from eukaryota_odb9
