From: Methamphetamine-induced changes in myocardial gene transcription are sex-dependent
Methamphetamine induced larger changes in gene transcription in female hearts compared to male hearts. Methamphetamine-induced changes in gene transcription were ranked according to their magnitude. The top 10 genes (in terms of the largest methamphetamine-induced changes) in male and female hearts were identified. The magnitude of methamphetamine-induced change in gene transcription was significantly (p < 0.0001) greater in female hearts (5.7 ± 0.7-fold) than in male hearts (1.5 ± 0.04-fold)
