Phylogeny of CLE effector genes of both Gr-Line19 (Green) and Gr-Line22 (dark red). A multiple sequence alignment was made using MUSCLE on the coding sequence. A phylogenetic tree was made using RAxML using a GTRGAMMA model, validated by 100 bootstrap replicates. Bootstrap values < 50 % are indicated by a “-”. Lighter shades of green or red indicate effector variants that lack a signal peptide for secretion. Genes belonging to the functional classes Gr-CLE-1 and Gr-CLE-4 [28] are labeled with dashed boxes. A boxed cluster (Roman I) highlights an asymmetric representation of variants among of the two G. rostochiensis lines. Dashed lines are used in case there was uncertainty about the location of the 5’end of a given effector family variant
