Phylogeny of CLE effector genes of both Gr-Line19 (Green) and Gr-Line22 (dark red). A multiple sequence alignment was made using MUSCLE on the coding sequence. A phylogenetic tree was made using RAxML using a GTRGAMMA model, validated by 100 bootstrap replicates. Bootstrap values < 50 % are indicated by a “-”. Lighter shades of green or red indicate effector variants that lack a signal peptide for secretion. Genes belonging to the functional classes Gr-CLE-1 and Gr-CLE-4 [28] are labeled with dashed boxes.
