Characterization of the deletion in g6116 vir: (a) Read coverage from Illumina data of both strains; (b) Domain prediction from InterProScan on the g6116vir protein. In the section ‘Entry matches to this protein’, six domains are predicted across the protein sequence, including a large non cytoplasmic domain, a small terminal transmembrane domain followed by a small cytoplasmic domain. This suggests that the protein is anchored to the membrane and has a long N-terminal extrusion that projects into the extracellular space (see the simplified cartoon)
