From: Integration of transcriptomics and network analysis reveals co-expressed genes in Frankliniella occidentalis larval guts that respond to tomato spotted wilt virus infection

Fig. 3

Droplet-digital PCR (ddPCR) validation of the RNA-seq analysis using selected differentially-expressed transcripts (FOCC prefix) of Frankliniella occidentalis first instar larval (L1) guts in response to tomato spotted wilt virus infection. Each transcript was normalized to F. occidentalis actin RNA and calibrated to non-infected L1 guts; for ddPCR: each bar represents the mean (+ standard error of the mean) of three biological replicate samples, with each sample consisting of a pool of 100 L1 guts sampled after a 24-h acquisition access period followed by a 3 h-clearing on green bean pods. RNA-Seq: each bar represents the mean of four biological replicate samples (100 L1 guts per sample); due to the method of determining fold changes in expression from RNA-Seq data (fitting data using the generalized linearized model (GLM) method), standard deviation or standard error of means are not calculated
