Phylogenetic tree of MptpB related phosphatases with eukaryotic lipid phosphatases. An unrooted phylogenetic tree was constructed using the results from the BLAST analysis, the eukaryotic sequences identified in ScanProsite and reference sequences including eukaryotic lipids phosphatases (myotubularins, PTEN and PFAs). The bacterial MptpB related sequences (red) cluster independently of eukaryotic lipid phosphatases (labelled MTMs and PTEN in dark blue) and atypical lipid phosphatases PFAs (cyan). Sequences in red show the six bacterial groups formed by sequences identified in Blast, while sequences in green show the three groups of eukaryotes with MptpB-like motif. Generated using RAxML and Treeview [37, 38] with bootstrap values indicated.
