Classification was carried out separately for transcripts in Cluster C (panel a) (modulated only in the compatible interaction at late time points) and in Cluster D (panel b) (modulated at different stages in both the compatible and incompatible interactions). The percentage of modulated transcripts included in each category is shown next to each bar. Data are derived from Additional File 1.
