Abbreviations: time np, time spent on plant without physical contact between stylet and plant tissue; time pathway, time spent on penetration of plant tissue by stylet; time SEP, time spent on feeding from sieve element; time xylem, time spent on feeding from xylem. None of the observed differences was statistically significant (Wilcoxon rank sum test).
