Correlation of BTRC mRNA and REST signature gene levels. (A) Mean normalized REST signature gene and BTRC mRNA levels are plotted for 2 non-neoplastic and 200 GBM tissue samples from the cancer genome atlas’ (TCGA) unified and scaled gene expression dataset [21]. A strong correlation between REST function and BTRC mRNA levels is confirmed to be statistically significant using the Kendall’s rank correlation test p-value (p<10-17). (B) Scatter plot of data in (A). Statistical analyses were performed using the Mstat software package (http://www.mcardle.wisc.edu/mstat/).
