  1. The VEST training set comprises a balanced number of disease-causing and neutral missense mutations. In order to compare VEST performance to other methods, the VEST training set was divided into a benchmark test set for evaluating methods, and a benchmark training set, used for training a VEST classifier for unbiased comparison.
