A schematic diagram of intron patterns in the grapevine bZIP gene family. The primary structure of the bZIP domain is shown at the top of the picture. The basic region, hinge and leucine zipper were shaded in crimson, blue and green, respectively. The highly conserved residues are highlighted with red and light green boxes. An example of the consensus sequence is given below, and the corresponding positions are shown at the top of the bar [45]. Leucines are sometimes replaced by Ile, Val, Phe or Met. The black vertical lines in the bar indicated the intron position within the bZIP domain and P0, P1 and P2 stand for the intron phase 0, phase 1 and phase 2, respectively. The details of intron position within bZIP domain of the VvbZIP genes were shown at Additional file 2.
