Chrysochromulina tobin mitochondrial genome map. (A) All genes are transcribed in the same direction. A split ribosomal operon is present. The large repeat region of 9495 bp represents a significant portion (~28%) of the genome. (B) Detailed representation of the complex repeat region found in the mitochondrial genome. Three large tandem repeat regions are flanked by two sections containing small tandem repeats designated A, B and C. These repeat subunits also make up the regions separating the large tandem repeats from each other. Blocks A, B and C have strong, but rarely perfect, sequence identity.
