Comparison of exons or CDS with PACs in Arabidopsis and M. truncatula . A. The relative position of exons with PACs. The relative position of an exon is the index of the exon divided by the total number of the exons within a gene. A y-axis value >0.5 indicates an exon situated closer to the 3′-end than to the 5′-end of the gene. Numbers of exons are 3759 and 4470 for Arabidopsis and M. truncatula, respectively. B. The lengths of CDS with PACs. The CDS length of all genes in the respective databases was used for comparison. Ath: Arabidopsis; Mtr: M. truncatula . Median values are 1458 nt, 626 nt, 1008 nt, and 696 nt, respectively. Number of CDS are 2835, 2683, 27406, and 50889, respectively. C. The lengths of exons with PACs. For the random exon collections, the same numbers of Arabidopsis or M. truncatula exons were chosen randomly from the complete set of exon sequences. Ath: Arabidopsis; Mtr: M. truncatula. Median values are 474 nt, 488 nt, 133 nt and 140 nt, respectively.
