Annotation of the detected Anopheles gambiae variants in mapped reads from the midgut transcriptome. The type of variant in either the G3 or L3-5 An. gambiae strain vs. the pink-eyed laboratory strain of An. gambiae (PEST; AgamP3.6) reference genome. Variant annotation was performed using a program for annotating and predicting the effects of single-nucleotide polymorphisms (snpEFF).
