Beneath the alignments are shown the length of the fragments between each variant site. Fragments long enough to be considered a MEPS are thicker than those that are not. Dashed lines with arrows indicate the extent of gene conversion, with the initiation point(s) shown by an 'X'. Note the greater variation in fragment length after gene conversion.
