Effect on recombination rate of changing one base at each degenerate spacer position from the sequence of the most promiscuous spacer (i.e. changing the base at position 1 from G to C creates the spacer CGGTAGGC which causes a 88% drop in total recombination relative to that of the most promiscuous spacer GGGTAGGC).
