(A) Major outer membrane protein gene (omp-1A; APH_1359) transcription greater in the human cell lines compared to the tick cell line. (B) Outer membrane efflux protein (APH_1110) greater in the tick cell line compared to the human cell lines. (C) Transcription of the major surface protein 4 gene (msp4; APH_1240) only in the tick cell line. (D) Transcription of the 60 kDa chaperonin gene (groL; APH_0240) was greatest in HL-60, significantly lower in HMEC-1, and least in ISE6. (E) Equal transcription of the succinyl-CoA synthetase beta subunit gene (sucC; APH_1052) in all three cell lines.
