The phylogenetic tree is based on the interactive tree of life (iTOL) [65], which was pruned to a selection of genera representing the different phyla. The eight phyla, where LytR-CpsA-Psr family proteins were found, are printed in bold, and red circles indicate their presence in the respective genera. In case not all members of a certain genus harbor LytR-CpsA-Psr proteins, the circle was put in brackets.
