SmVAL gene clusters exist throughout the genome with SmVAL2, SmVAL8 and SmVAL12 genetically linked to chromosome 6 and W. B) Genomic linkage of SmVAL2, 8 and 12 was established by PCR amplification of gene specific regions from BAC clone Sm1-41J19. SmAT1 (alpha tubulin, M80214) was not contained on the BAC clone and was only amplified from adult worm cDNA.
