Measurements of cytokines and related proteins in cell supernatants. Increased production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines were observed in infected relative to uninfected cells. Additionally, morphotype-specific variations in the levels of several pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines were observed, with higher levels generally detected in MAB-S-infected cells.
