Gene expression (DESeq-normalized counts per transcript) was estimated by RNA-seq from needle samples representing three families of trees at four hour intervals for two days. For each gene, the Douglas-fir transcript name, putative gene name, and best BLAST match to Arabidopsis (prefix ‘at’) are provided. Lines connect the mean expression for each family; error bars represent the SD for all replicates. Absence of shading indicates daylight hours, while shading indicates night hours.
