Deterioration of allele frequencies (AF) and copy number signals by decreased cell input. Each plot reflects median filtered (neighborhood range of 100 variants) AF of all chromosomes from duplicate assays. AF shifts as a result of copy number changes are readily identified for a high number of input cells (50), whereas this pattern is not readily discernible from the duplicate single cell assay (2 and 25 cell plots are found in the Additional file 5: Figure S4). The noise reduction also resulted in a false-negative del(13) comprising less than 100 variants (Additional file 6: Figure S5)
