Analysis of the relative expression of Podosphaera xanthii genes coding for haustorium-specific secreted proteins during the first steps of infection. a Relative expression of genes analysed by quantitative reverse transcription–polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). Total RNA was isolated from zucchini cotyledons inoculated with P. xanthii at different time points (24, 48 and 72 h post-inoculation), and the relative expression of genes was analysed by qRT-PCR. Transcript abundance was normalized to the transcription of the endogenous control elongation factor-1 gene PxEF1 (MK249653).
