The clustering tree on the left side of the figure was constructed using the maximum likelihood method (JTT + G model, complete deletion, and 1000 bootstrap replicates) by MEGA 6.60, and different colors and letters (A, B, and D) on the phylogenetic tree represented three groups of SsCOI1s. YC05–179_ 0 d/ 1 d/2 d/5 d and ROC22_0 d/1 d/2 d/5 d represented the sugarcane smut-resistant cultivar YC05–179 and smut-susceptible cultivar ROC22 under S. scitamineum treatment for 0 d, 1 d, 2 d and 5 d, respectively
