The NEJ specific miRNAs regulate a significantly higher number of targets compared to the immature or adult specific miRNAs. Semantic similarity charts on gene ontology (GO) enrichment for biological processes, cellular components and molecular functions of genes regulated by miRNAs specifically expressed in each of the intra-mammalian life stages; newly excysted juveniles (NEJ), immature fluke and adult parasites. Enrichment analysis performed using hypergeometric tests and GO terms with <0.05 adjusted P value selected. Charts constructed using SimRel for semantic similarity measure, where nodes are colour coded based on P value and node size representing GO presence.
